Workshop 2 (in-person @ISRP2024 in Oxford, UK): Identify solutions and develop a roadmap

ISRP is a partner with FACE-UP project (Factors Affecting Childhood Exposure to Urban Particulates) which is a research consortium undertaking research into the factors that affect children’s exposure to urban pollution, and how to provide appropriate harm reduction.

The ISRP Education Committee is planning a 3-event workshop series to address respiratory protection for children.

• Workshop 1 was held virtually on 26^th June 2024, and was open to all. A recording of the workshop is available on our YouTube channel and presentations may be found here.  We would ask that anyone who reuses any of the slides or graphics to attribute them appropriately.  Also, if registrants are interested in participating further in ISRP Education Committee initiatives, including FACE-UP, please email slynch@ohdglobal.com.

• FACE-UP Workshop 2 will be held in person, in conjunction with the ISRP biannual global conference, which is taking place in Oxford, Sept 22-26. Workshop 2 will take place on Thursday September 26, 2024, in-person only, in the afternoon, exact timing TBD – approximately 3 hrs). Open to all. Costs associated. Registration is available now for the conference here:

  ISRP2024 Registration 

  Workshop registration is the Day rate registration for the conference for Thursday which will include the morning sessions (including several associated with FACE-UP) and lunch.

  FACE-UP Workshop 2 – Identify solutions and develop a roadmap

  The second workshop (3 Hours) will be designed to be a follow-up to Workshop 1.  Attendees will be provided with the results of Workshop 1, plus additional supplemental materials, beforehand and will discuss the following topics:

  • Update/feedback on the outcomes of Workshop 1
  • How can we address the gaps, issues, and obstacles – to help countries succeed in implementing respiratory protection for children?
  • What are some likely solutions?
  • What are the remaining knowledge gaps that need to be addressed via future research?

  Output:

  o            Roadmap (to potentially include research gaps, policy needs, standards gaps, marketplace/supply chain solutions, etc.)

  o            Outline of a white paper, to be published in JISRP

• FACE-UP Workshop 3 will be an invitation-only review of the white paper outline, before it advances to drafting by the Education Committee.
